Project Overview
This project was part of a $50M reclamation project for Rio Tinto’s Barney’s Canyon gold mine. This reclamation work was necessary to restore the site to a more natural state, thereby protecting public health, safety, and the environment.

Phillips Contribution
Phillips was responsible for cut/fill reshaping, topsoil loading, hauling, and placement, as well as aggregate hauling and soil remediation. The job required soil remediation, which significantly altered the schedule and sequence of work. Most original contract activities were put on hold until soil remediation work was complete, and as a result, Phillips' contract was modified and the scope reduced.
