The son of Phillips’ founder, Ted Sr., Teddy grew up immersed in the company’s values and joined in an official capacity in 1989. He advanced through key leadership roles — including Vice President of Real Estate and Corporate Development, Executive Vice President, and President — before being named CEO in 2009, when his father entrusted him with the company’s top role.
Under Teddy’s leadership, Phillips has achieved substantial growth and sustained profitability, and after guiding Phillips through a period of brand evolution and strategic growth, Teddy transitioned to Executive Director of the Board. In this role, he will continue to support governance, succession planning, and key market partnerships.
Teddy majored in Business Management at Western Carolina University, where he later served on the Board of Trustees from 2000 to 2009. He also serves on the boards of directors of companies in the real estate and construction sectors.
